How to Change Your Password and Enroll a Fingerprint on macOS

If you have a new computer with a default/temporary password, here's how you can change it and also enroll your fingerprint with Touch ID.

Change Your Password

1. Open System Settings, scroll down to select Touch ID & Password, click on Change
   
2. Enter your current password, your new password, verify it, enter an optional password hint and click Change Password
   
3. Click OK again and you're done!

Enroll a Fingerprint in Touch ID

1. While still in System Settings > Touch ID & Password, click on + Add Fingerprint
   
2. Enter your password to continue and follow the prompts, then click Done
